A very interesting cultural and architecture subject.
The religion, Buddha art and architecture started to flourish around the 15th Century when the Bagan Kingdom actively supported it. The result was amazing and even today is can be seen and felt everywhere. Centers to teach and meditate are monasteries and retreats visually expressed in countless temples, pagodas and shrines. Here is a famous one in the middle of the Irrawaddy River Delta.
