The "Golden Triangle" in Myanmar is one of the most productive opium and marijuana production area on the planet. There is no cocaine around but several factories for synthetic drugs such as methamphetamine pills, crystal ice and more in this direction.

Statistics of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) tell that about 10% of the world's opium / heroine is produced in Myanmar, making it the second largest producer after Afghanistan. As a matter of fact the opium business is rather on a lower scale, the real danger this days comes from synthetic drugs which are produced in the border region between Myanmar Eastern Shan State and Thailand plus China. Actually the producer are almost always Chinese drug lords who have their production and growing facilities in Shan and Kachin State.

They are protected by the Liberation Armies of this two states which they pay and arm, all under the cover of liberate our state, in this case Kachin and Shan which were financed and armed with the help of the USA to fight against the military regime. 

The people in Washington turned a blind eye on this and paid lip service on the drug production as long as it fitted them, we already have heard this story before, haven't we?    

The fact is that the region had never anything in mind with drugs until the British came here, they ordered the local people to grow the opium poppies gave them alcohol for it and sold the opium or high prices to China where they made horrendous profits for the cown and the British East India Company. 

Effectively the British Crown, King / Queen were this biggest drug dealer 

of the passed centuries and today the Queen etc. still live from the drug money their criminal predecessors extorted from the poor Burmese / Myanmar / Chinese people.  The fact is that the British crown were some of the worst criminals in the last two centuries. Another example for this is their behavior  when they conquered Burma they forced the Salone Pearl Diver in the Mergui / Myeik archipelago to sell them the spheres for alcohol and opium making them drug addicts depending on them and that was what they gave to the "Sea gypsies" for it. Before that time Chinese trader who came into the Island World exchanged the pearls for useful goods. During that time it was a never ending story of theft, cheating, robbery etc by the crooks who got sent by the British Crown to steal for King and Queen and they still live from it today.

Unfortunately they still got a foot into the Burmese / Myanmar door by the Myanmar Lady who lived in England for decades and still kept close connection with them.
