Ngwe Saung Beach

Ngwe Saung Beach is probably the best choice when in Yangon.

It still takes a few hours drive to the west until beyond Pathein or Bassein but it's worth it. For a a particular Myanmar luxury resort check here.

The sand has a kind of silver shade thats the reason why it is named "silver beach" the English translation of it. On certain times in the year there is a problem with jellyfishes, they can be poisonous, check with the hotel before booking.

Actually when in Yangon and without taking an aircraft there are only two choices, this one or Chaungtha Beach which has also a luxury accommodation, the Max Hotel.

If you want to have it the exotic way check the Andaman Sea entry and islands.

Unfortunately in south Myanmar are practically no luxury beach hotels, the only one which approaches this parameter is on a small island opposite Kawthaung. It is run as a casino and is operated by a Thai company, it's also the only one to make visits in the Myeik archipelago without the normal tourist visa. 

Andaman Club Ferry

When taking the visa at the city border post it is only permitted to move around within the vicinity. Only the hotel indicated below has a permission for tours around, it need to take the Andaman Club ferry boat from their pier at Ranong.
