Ngapali Beach waterfront map & pictures
Ngapali beach is the best developed in the country, several resorts are owned or managed by foreign companies which makes sure to have a certain good standard. On the other hand those hotels have higher prices than the other. The map is at the right side a bit further down, just type in the name what you want to see.
This is a beautiful waterfront located at the west coast in Rakhine or Arakan division in front of the Bay of Bengal not far away from Bangladesh. Somehow considered to be the premier oceanfront destination in the country.
There are great islands > and other beaches > in the south of the country but there is nothing developed, no hotels, no accommodations and the whole is only accessible from Yangon although Kawthaung > at the southernmost tip is reachable from Ranong Thailand it is not possible to move beyond city limits. It needs to get a visa from the embassy first after the country can be accessed.
This has to do with the marvelous and pristine area around, it's the only beach reachable from Yangon airport >. All other are only accessible by road and that means at least 5 to 6 hours drive over not the best roads.

Every year a few thousand locals and foreigners enjoy this exotic location.
Lots of sightseeing on shore and offshore is also possible. It's the right place for sun worshipers and people who like a quiet time very far away but all the needed infrastructure around when needed, the only problem is the electricity but the hotels have their own generator.
During monsoon season (about June to October the whole area is closed down since the floods and storms from the monsoon which come over the Indian Ocean is to strong.
The waterfront is almost straight and about 5 km long.

Early in the morning in the fishermen start their activities to pull their catch ashore and sort it out. You can do a day trip to watch them, the other parts are used almost exclusively for guests. There are small restaurants behind serving fresh seafood, some bars with music and a good service, there are excellent hotels and resorts around.

Ngapali has many to choose from, from luxury resorts to the rather basic accommodation, its all there. Some resorts used plenty of teak when when constructed The constructed and even the furniture mainly is in teak wood, giving a great valuable and tropical touch. Most have a idyllic setting amidst lush tropical gardens behind the Bay of Bengal. All modern facilities are offered, like spa, sauna, Turkish bath, massage, Ayurveda, scuba and others. All have excellent restaurants which offer great local cuisine plus recreational facilities.
