Vipassana Meditation

This is a Buddhist country and philosophizing courses are offered.

Centers are in Yangon and Sagaing opposite Mandalay located on the western bank of the Ayeyawady river, occupying a scenic and picturesque spot thereof. A rather, quiet and sedate place where one could take refuge.

This area is profusely dotted with manifold monasteries, institutions and nunneries to which devotees throng all over the year and in particular during the Full Moon of Tazaungmon (October/November), when the weather is clean and clear. Devotees offer monk's robes and other alms during this period.

Here is also the center of Theravada Vipassana Satthipathan Meditational Practice, this Pa Ba Gyaung is one among them and more than 900 years old. It is an ideal spot for unperturbed meditation. Here, one can imbibe and practice meditation in typical Buddhist Theravada way according to Four Noble Truths (Thitsa Lepa). Kyaswa Monastery provides 'Annual Practice and Training', for foreign Yogis as an annual feature in January. There is a major monastic hospital for the members of the order.
