A excellent extension to a culture oriented trip are beach holidays.
Most accessible waterfronts are in good conditions and some are accessible without problems, this is Chaungtha and Ngwe Saung west of Yangon plus Ngapali in Rakhine State a bit south of Bangladesh.The most popular sandy waterfronts are west of Yangon which can be reached by a couple of hour drive. Other seafronts are not developed although there are countless but there is no infrastructure especially electricity is a constant problem.
The places in the south which means Andaman Sea in the Myeik Archipelago all the way down to Kawthaung at the south end of Myanmar are pretty but the problem, there is nothing around which makes holidays possible. Since this is one of best scuba diving destination in the world they make liveaboard trips starting in Phuket Thailand. That is quite expensive since medium sizes yachts are used which carry all support with. Booking is at least a week because of the distance and the time needed for immigration and custom in Kawthaung.
